April 26, 2022 — Meade County Water District will begin distribution system flushing on Monday May 16, 2022, until completion. Crews will begin flushing at our wholesale interconnect located just off Hwy 313 near the Hardin County line and will work their way through the system ending in the western part of the system in the Wolf Creek, Rhodelia area. The eastern part of the distribution system (Flaherty, Garrett) will be flushed from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Due to the characteristics of the distribution system in the western part of the system, flushing will be done from 12:00 am to 6:00 am each day to minimize the impact to our customers in that area.
Customers may notice lower than normal water pressure during flushing in their area. Also, water may briefly be discolored. It is recommended to run the water for a short time to make sure that the water is clear before doing laundry or waiting until after flushing hours. Patrons may also experience low water pressure for periods of time during flushing hours. If customers have any questions, please call our service center at (270) 422-5006 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:15 am to 4:15 pm).
